Arrival by Train

Upon arrival at the Karlsruhe Central Train Station, take the main exit out of the station. All of the trams that depart towards the right travel in the direction of the inner city or the university. If you would like to head to the university, take the Line 2 in the direction Wolfartsweier, the Line 3 in the direction Heide or the S4 in the direction Bretten/Gölshausen (or Heilbronn). Get off at stops Kronenplatz, Universität, or Durlacher Tor. More information on local public transportation can be found on the KVV website. The Deutsche Bahn’s timetables can offer more detailed information on arrival by train.

Arrival by Car

From the North-West:
Take the Autobahn A61 until you reach the A5. Continued under “From the North“.
From the North:
Take the Autobahn A5 in the direction Karlsruhe/Basel until you reach the exit Karlsruhe-Durlach, then continue in the direction of Karlsruhe (first exit). Follow the four-lane entrance road until you see a sign indicating "Universität“, then exit to the right.
From the East:
Take the Autobahn A8 in the direction Karlsruhe until you reach the Karlsruher Dreieck, then take the A5 in the direction Frankfurt, exit Karlsruhe-Durlach, and continue as described in "From the North“.
From the South/South-West:
Take the Autobahn A5 in the direction Frankfurt, exit Karlsruhe-Durlach, then continue as described in "From the North“.

If you are arriving by car and would like to enter the campus, please use the Eastern entrance (Haupteinfahrt) and ask for permission to enter at the gate.
